Azileli’s New EP Fruiting Parts: A Journey of Growth and Acceptance

South London’s Azileli, a multifaceted producer, singer-songwriter, and visual artist, continues to push boundaries mixing trip-hop, avant-pop, and electronic music. Her last single, In This House’, got a lot of love from places like Mystic Sons and Halfway 2 Nowhere, and now she’s back with a new 5-track EP called Fruiting Parts’. In this EP, she explored deep, complex emotions and she pairs these personal, introspective lyrics with sounds that are outside the box.

Azileli talked about how she came up with the idea for her EP. She said it was inspired by this conversation she had with a therapist years ago, where they described some of her feelings or traits as having "grown very small." Each song on the EP takes one of those emotions—grief, anger, submission, dominance, isolation—and explores it. The EP embodies the transformation of all those little, uncertain feelings that can grow into something bigger and meaningful. The whole project feels personal but also relatable, like we can see her growth as both an artist and a person through the music.

The tracklist is a rich diversity of moods and narratives. It kicks off with Rebuilding’, which is a song that has a “crying in the club” vibe while going through heartbreak, grief, and those strange moments where life feels like it’s throwing you the same lesson over and over. Then there’s Ignored’, which dropped as a single on October 18th. It’s about anger, but not in an obvious way—it’s more about the unspoken tension and those little ways it builds up. Meanwhile, there’s this interlude called Palatable’ where she talks about struggling with staying small and not taking up space, but then flips that idea on its head with S3X DR34MS’, which is about sexual dominance and self-discovery. And Syncing’ wraps it all up with this eerie look at isolation during COVID and how social media played a big role into that.

Azileli has this great way of pouring raw emotion into music that crosses so many genres. This makes her stand out as one of the most exciting artists coming out of South London right now. With Fruiting Parts’, she’s inviting listeners to look at your own “small parts,” those emotions you might not always acknowledge, and find some comfort in knowing we all go through it. Each track feels like a piece of her story, showing her growth and resilience. It’s a powerful reminder of how music can bring people together.
