Patti Zlaket’s Second Act: Deluxe Reissues, a New Record, and the Road Ahead
For over three decades, Patti Zlaket has been a force in the world of singer-songwriters, pairing raw emotion with undeniable musical talent. Now, with a new record contract from Meridian (ECR Music Group) and a line of deluxe-edition reissues, Patti is gazing back far—ahead to new material. New and old fans both will be able to relive her catalog in its entirety, flawlessly remastered by Blake Morgan (Lenny Kravitz, Janita, Lesley Gore), starting with The Promise [Deluxe Edition] on February 14th. But Patti isn’t just revisiting the past; she's setting the stage for the future with a new album and West Coast tour in high-end listening rooms this March.
The reissue of The Promise holds special meaning for Patti because she recorded it in her early twenties at The Village in Los Angeles—notoriously bumping Barbra Streisand out of the studio that night. “I hear innocence blossoming into maturity,” she states of the album, capturing the vulnerability of youth and sage-learned experience along the way. The re-issue also includes an unreleased track, "Somewhere Down The Tracks," a haunting meditation on letting someone else's sorrow out. It's a fitting inclusion to an album that already drips with self-reflection and emotional narrative.
Patti’s path has been anything but conventional. Born in Tucson, she holds a BA in Theatre from USC and took a detour into law school on top of a career as a touring musician and premier jingle singer. She's won over the critics in the process, with the San Diego Troubadour praising her voice as a "finely tuned instrument" capable of belting and whispering with equal power. Now, with her catalog—including The Promise, Bliss, and Tunes—getting the deluxe treatment, she's reclaiming her rightful place in the industry with the kind of backing she's always deserved. “I feel I have a real ‘team’ for the first time now,” she says.
With momentum building and a new album in progress, Patti Zlaket is demonstrating that good things come to those who continue making, continue striving, and continue believing. The past may have led her to this moment, but make no mistake—Patti Zlaket’s story is still being written.
