MUANH Explores Identity and Emotion in New Single “Ever Since”

Coming from the intimate and cozy setting of a bedroom studio, “Ever Since” is a big step forward for artist MUANH, who mixes different music styles. What started as a simple loop became a full song—thanks to working with musicians Phillip Kwaku and Lars Cölln. The three of them worked well together, bringing the song to life. Their common vision helped transform an initial demo into a stunning work that represents her unique sound.

Drawing inspiration from artists such as Dijon, The Marías, and Mk.Gee, MUANH works with a dreamy, groove-oriented soundscape that feels both raw and otherworldly. The listener gets enveloped in an atmospheric depth here, full of an undertone of emotion that speaks to the artist's passion for dense, emotive sound design. It’s a style that seeks to satisfy the ear but also to tell a story.

That story runs deep. Born to a Vietnamese mother and German father, and growing up between Germany and the U.S.,  MUANH understands what it's like to struggle with identity from an early age. “Ever Since” is about the silent fatigue of constantly trying to fit in. The lyrics are a reflection of years spent in different worlds, struggling with doubt, and searching for a sense of belonging. This song comes from a place of inner conflict, but also from clarity and self-acceptance.

This release is notable because it combines professional studio recording and DIY bedroom recording. This combination gives the song a special character, finding a balance between the natural and polished sound. It also ushers in a more commercial sound without sacrificing her true style. This track is the ideal place to start listening to the music of an artist whose music is so captivating and authentic.
