Burning Bright: Katie Belle Lights Up 2025 with 'Cigarette'

As the energy of Atlanta dwindles, sadness strikes in the tender sounds of Katie Belle – Georgia’s very own sultry, smoky indie-pop sensation. Like a dangerous romance that pulls you in highly, her most recent single-“Cigarette" released on May 9, feels like a memory itself; resting languorously and bewitched in its own magic, yet forever fled. As if Katie and LA based producer Fabio Campedelli are two artists from whose bonds have nourished and burgeoned since her debut “Next Ex” was released in 2022, they seem in perfect synergy suffusing into melody and chanson.

Katie emerges back to the place where love has passed by as a weightless evanescent ache, once bearing brightness; "Cigarette", a meticulously considered cadence of a distant embodiment alongside a metaphorical reverberation takes shape like a visualization combined with a potent sigh. The mixing for this track was handled by Lukas Cuman and later on given a polish by Sanjeeve Easwar, who both are well known for their work within the Los Angeles music scene. Every note and every line is engraved with boundless vision, the result of countless hours spent perfecting the alchemy of emotion and melody.

Recorded in the creative haven of Fabio's LA studio, the song is part of something bigger—Katie's upcoming EP tentatively titled "People Pleaser." Here, she experiments with her vocal style and her own expressive perspective, uncovering an artistry who's not afraid to get personal, to plunge into vulnerability, and to thread beauty through heartbreak. Katie's narrating feels like a page torn from a journal, and her melodic world—both intimate and cinematic—is becoming unmistakably her own.

Beyond the studio, Katie's voice carries through the boulevards and stages of the Southeast. As the lead vocalist of “Color The Night” and through her own band's performances, counting a showstopping set at Virginia Highlands Porchfest, she is steadily lighting her way forward. In Katie's words, every song shared is a piece of something valuable, something honest. "Cigarette" is proof: a soft flame that remains with you long after the smoke has cleared.
