Audren Turns "A New Page" — And Invites Us to Do the Same
Some songs are written out of melodies, some out of memory — and some, like Audren's "A New Page", seem to come straight from the soul itself. Familiarly recognized not only as a singer-songwriter but as poet and best-selling novelist, Audren has long written words into worlds. But she wasn't thinking about books this time. The "page" she turned was a one in her own life — a quiet, courageous step toward healing. Music, nature, and love were her medicine, softening the darkness of hard days. With every note, she stepped toward the light, daring to believe that rebirth was not only possible, but already unfolding.
"A New Page" was written like a soft passage. Rooted in intimate Indie Pop and Folk vibes, the song unfolds around Audren's voice — voice that doesn't merely sing, but carries you into a lush sensory daydream. She wanted to convey that rush you feel when suddenly the future flings open, when the wind smells sweeter, and the sky turns an impossible shade of gold. You can almost feel the wind tracing your cheeks, see the languid flutter of butterflies, and hear the buzz of life's comeback. It's the rhythm of joy restored, framed in nature's own wonders.
To give the song its radiant scope, jazz guitar virtuoso and producer Chris Rime — Audren's collaborator — wrote arrangements for a full symphonic orchestra. More than seventy musicians turned out for the recording session, adding strings and brass over the warm center of the song. Family contributed much of the magic, as they have to so many hours of Audren's artistic life: her daughter Jemily on fretless bass, bringing warmth to the music's foundation. What they fashioned is the sonic equivalent of cookies just baked, laughter by the fire, and the first big breath of spring after a brutal winter.
"A New Page" is the new first chapter of Audren's new album "Think Freedom" (October 2025) — named in honor of the inspiration of Aretha Franklin. It is not an album, but a call to live in color, to escape gray conformity, and to dream of a beautiful world to be created by art. Audren's music has ever been for the listeners who listen deeply — a point even David Guetta once noted — and here, she offers a poetic gust of clean air. Like its artist, the song is a little wild, human to the core, and generally unafraid to chase after the horizon.
