Where Darkness Breathes: She Becomes Unveils "Necromancer"
She Becomes appears from around the edges of Barrow-in-Furness, like a spark appearing in the fog—a uniquely formed artist who is a product of late starts and fearless transformation. Backing this project is an artist in her own right, Sherri Bell, who is a songwriter who is barely eighteen months into music, but who speaks in a manner as sure as if she’s been listening all her life to the sounds of her choosing. Together, she and producer Matt Kassell lassoed a distinct sonic personality from out of nowhere, which consciously tips a hat to the intentions of the 90s—hark! PJ Harvey, Garbage, Smashing Pumpkins, The Cure, but unmistakably different, refreshingly original, hers altogether.
Her brand new single, "Necromancer," released on 13th of November, in 2025, took shape from this encounter, which is like a run of shivers down her spine—a tombstone, a name, a year of birth, but no date of death—the end of a life, for which time is suspended, between worlds, in this state, something in her aw akened—life barely lived, the silent chasm between spark and spark, a song dark as this scenario, but full of the warmth of awakening, as if it is precisely this—love—that brings men to life, revives them, makes them breathe, makes them get up from death itself.
While this is, technically, her second official single, it feels more like her actual debut—her statement of arrival, her proclamation that she’s discovered her voice, her flair, and she’s going to wear it proud. Dark, grunge-inspired, but also, at heart, quite beautiful, this single is a major milestone in her development as an artist. She Becomes is proud of this, proud enough to demonstrate it in spades.
The fans ge t to hear this single for the very first time at Barrow’s Underground Music Society event, which is going to be held on 5th December, 2025, where this very essence of music is sure to find an accommodating atmosphere. According to Sherri, in her own statements, she hopes her audiences he ar this song so they could relate to that feel—that of being pulled from in between, from the dark into the bright, confusing world of the living, because that is what this song is all about—that exact realization of being completely awake, which is what "Necromancer" is all about.
