Corinne Boulad's 'Exils': A Slam Poet's Cry Amidst Lebanon's Turmoil

Corinne Boulad uses her art to amplify the voices of those we never hear.
Her new single, "Exils," is a masterpiece born from the difficult times when her homeland, Lebanon, was undergoing a crisis (and still is).

'Exils' is a conversation within ourselves, when things become uncertain. Corinne Boulad, through her impactful slam poetry, perfectly describes the issues that one faces in the middle of Lebanon's crisis. The title itself, which means 'exiles' in French, refers to a sense of displacement; it's a theme that runs throughout the whole track.

The mix of slam poetry and an alt-pop sound creates a unique listening experience. Corinne's voice delivers verses very eloquently. Samples of original voices were used and add authenticity to the track. Therefore we are invited to share these experiences, to put ourselves in other peoples' shoes and understand them a little bit better.

With Corinne Boulad, we realize that slam poetry is a powerful thing. Words are strong weapons against injustice. She shows that she has a commitment to truth-telling and as an artist she aims to use her craft and talent to make a meaningful impact. "Exils" is about resilience and the power of art to bring about change.
