Leonie Sherif: Bridging Music and Fragrance with 'VENUS'

Leonie Sherif is an artist from East London/Essex who started releasing music in 2013. She grew up being inspired by the big '90s icons like Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Madonna. Over the years, her sound has changed, matured and evolved into this mix of alternative and commercial electro RnB. It’s abstract and surprisingly catchy at the same time. She started making her own beats in 2016 and it changed things for her. She started creating a sound that was her own, combining rhythm, melodies, and dreamy vocals.

On top of being a great singer, Leonie also taught herself how to make beats and produce music. She does everything from her home, crafting her demos and vocals right there. She collaborates with other producers and engineers as well which results in a polished final product while also maintaining her unique touch. This hands-on approach means Leonie keeps creative control so her music reflects her vision. Her songs have this mix of atmospheric and rhythmic qualities combined with catchy melodies. This makes her music both innovative and accessible.

In September 2018, Leonie dropped her debut EP, ‘The Nocturnal Wave’ and it really put her on the map. She shared her unique sound with the world and solidified her presence in the music scene. The EP had these dreamy and rhythmic vibes with great vocals. The press enjoyed it and from then on she started building her fanbase. With this debut, Leonie crafted immersive music experiences which set the stage for everything she’s done since.

Leonie's latest release, "VENUS," dropped on May 31, 2024. It shows how much she’s grown as an artist and how creative she is. The song has these lush, airy percussive pop RnB vibes, and it’s actually the musical version of her debut fragrance, also called VENUS, from her scent house Sense’N’ By Sherif. She put together the whole track in her flat as she was inspired by one of her fragrance creations. The track blends atmospheric sounds with rhythmic beats and exudes feminine energy, sass, and luxury. This track is a perfect example of how Leonie’s talent bridges music and fragrance in such an amazing way. We can’t wait to listen, see or smell this multifaceted artist’s future projects.
