Unraveling Emotions: JANAYAH’s Stripped-Back Masterpiece ‘Back To You’

JANAYAH's new song, 'Back To You', is a beautiful ballad that shows off her vocal talent. It's just her and a piano, in a simple intimate setting. The song speaks to anyone who's ever been in a relationship where things aren’t right and don’t meet expectations. In her lyrics, JANAYAH looks at complicated feelings and tries to untangle them while her voice is the focal point. It is powerful and fragile at the same time. She catches you right from the first noteᅳit feels like she's sharing something personal directly with you.

In ‘Back To You’, JANAYAH shares that feeling of being stuck in a one-sided relationship. That line, "Every road leads back to you," perfectly describes how hard it is to leave a person who keeps pulling you back in. The song reminds us that a lot of times in love, we face struggle, especially when you’re trying to hold on to who you are while dealing with those intense emotions.

'Back To You' is a track that’s very different compared to JANAYAH’s previous tracks which were more high-energy with strong elements of pop and rock. ⁤⁤Now on this one, it's just her voice and the piano, and with this particular approach her voice really shines through. ⁤⁤The message behind this song is pretty clear; don’t forget who you are, don’t lose yourself or change for someone else in the name of love. ⁤⁤This ballad shows a more personal side of JANAYAH. ⁤⁤She's an artist that can sing a lot of things, her voice can adapt to different genres, and it works.

JANAYAH is originally from Auckland, New Zealand, and now she’s based in London. She’s performed at some really prestigious events, like the British Music Industry Trust Awards, where she paid tribute to Lucy Dickins, who won the MITS Award this year.  She has also graced some iconic stages, like the Piccadilly Lights and Trafalgar Square during the UEFA Championship in 2024. With ‘Back To You’, she’s making her mark in the music scene, and she gives listeners an emotional experience that sticks with you after the last note fades.
