Toni Janke Embraces Life’s Rhythm with New Single "Cool Life"
Toni Janke, the renowned singer/songwriter from Magandjin, is back with a brand new single – "Cool Life", launched on 12th Dec. The song, produced by Munk Funk Productions and boasting eye-catching covers designed by Varinia Street, is the launching platform for her upcoming album in 2026. To launch this single effectively, Toni has planned a launch event at the Cave Inn in Woolloongabba on 4th Jan, and afterward, she would be showcasing her work at the Adelaide Fringe Festival with three separate live sessions.
"Cool Life" offers a reflective and emotional experience that deals with the ups and downs that life presents and finds solace in overcoming and enjoying the highs. The effective lyrics and expression of Toni manage to deliver messages of strength and finding one’s destination. This composition can well serve as an anthem for all who want to live life and enjoy the journey while learning from the experiences that life presents. As explained by Toni, "This is just life’s beat. A reminder to pause. A reminder to breathe. A reminder to enjoy the unplanned bits that make every day significant."
Outside music, Toni Janke is branching out into other artistic areas. She is working on a theatrical show called Inheritance that will showcase her life and artistic expression. The show is expected to open at QPAC in Brisbane in April 2026. With pride emanating from her heritage as a Wuthathi, Yadhaigana, and Meriam woman herself, her artistic expression has always reflected her First Nations roots and passion. With a span of over 35 years in her professional life, she has left her imprint in the fields of music, arts, and social projects.
Toni’s early musical experience in Cairns and Canberra has led her to the production of a tremendous number of her original compositions on her own record label, Toni Janke Productions. The albums include Hearts Speak Out (1993), The Brink (2000), Jewel of the North (2004), Eternal (2021), and some collaborations, including On This Sacred Ground (2022). Her contribution to the country has been marked by recognition through the 2024 Australian Women in Music Award for the promotion of inclusiveness and cultural diversity. Through "Cool Life", Toni Janke proves once more that she is able to inspire and bring people together through her music, both as a personal expression and as a universal message in accepting the journey of life.
